III EPPI: Encontro Paraibano de Professores de Inglês (2016)
The Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) hosted on 21 and 22 October 2016, the III EPPI: Encontro Paraibano de Professores de Inglês.
EPPI is an action from the EFOPLI: Espaços para a Formação do Professor de Língua Inglesa (Extensão/UFPB) program, which has the goal of providing a space to reflect on the English language teaching process - through the exchange of experiences with other teachers, with research, and methods - of English teachers from Paraiba working in different levels and context. In 2016, it relied on the participation of the newly-founded Associação de Professores de Inglês da Paraíba (Braz-TESOL Paraíba Chapter), seeking to promote it amongst teachers from Paraíba.
In the third edition, the event included, in its programming, plenaries, poster session, in addition to workshops. It sought to assemble regular school teachers and language school teachers, as well as professors from higher education institutions, strengthening the dialog amongst professionals in the field in the state of Paraíba.
The III EPPI had the support of many institutions, such as: the U.S General Consulate Recife/Embassy, Disal, publishers Cengage & National Geographic, Pearson, Macmillan and Richmond, Bookline, the Fulbright Commission of Brazil, and the Regional Language Office (RELO/São Paulo), Helbling Languages, the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraíba (IFPB), the Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB), the Universidade Federal da Campina Grande (UFCG), Cambridge English Language Assessment, the Educational Secretariat of Paraíba, the British Council, the Centro de Línguas da Prefeitura da Paraíba (CELEST), the Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS), the Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL), the Grupo of Estudos em Letramento, Interação e Trabalho (GELIT/CNPq/UFPB), the Centro de Ciências Humanas, Letras e Artes of UFPB, the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística (PROLING/UFPB), the BRAZ-Tesol (Association of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages in Brazil).
